The method involves guiding the fluid streams (6) with an amplitude back and forth in a row arrangement, transverse to the direction of travel of the fleece web (3). The fibrous material penetrates the fleece web. The amplitude for back and forth movement of the fluid is so selected, that the meeting points produced by adjacent fluid flows, in the fleece web do not cross a separator line in the running direction. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for strengthening a fleece web (2) fleece comprising multiple melt spun fibers.
