Sulfonation and/or sulfation of liquid organic raw materials with sulfite/air-mixture in a conventional micro-structured falling film reactor e.g. tubular reactor or annular gap reactor (in the form of a double cylinder) comprises splitting the sulfite/air mixture feed into two feed points with in the reaction tube(s) and/or with in the annular gap region of an annular gas-falling film reactor, by an insertion tube (single tube reactor), several insertion tubes (multi-tubular reactor) and/or an insertion double tube (annular gap reactor).
