In-vivo interstitial antenna (IVIA) consists of a coaxial cable (720) and three capacitors (730,740,750) inserted into a catheter (760). The cable includes two conductors (710,742) having an insulator (721) with a dielectric constant and fills the gap between the two conductors. The second conductor is in the form of a tube and surrounds the first conductor concentrically. Only the first conductor extends less than a quarter-wavelength of the microwaves.
