The cap (20) has an opening (36) provided for a wiper shaft (8), and a ring seal (34) inserted into the opening. A circulating dust lip (32) is provided at a front end that is turned away from a wiper drive. A support bearing (40) is provided for supporting the cap on a peripheral surface of the wiper shaft and arranged between the dust lip and the ring seal. The support bearing has a ring-shaped bearing unit that is made from corrosion-resistant material e.g. sintered bronze, where the support bearing forms an integral part of the cap. An independent claim is also included for a wiper drive for a windscreen wiper system.
