The invention relates to a vehicle roof comprising an at least partly transparent roof section (10) and a shade arrangement (12) that is disposed below the transparent roof section and is provided with two winding shafts (16, 18) located one behind another as well as a shade web (14) which extends therebetween. The forward end of said shade web can be wound onto the front winding shaft while the rear end thereof can be wound onto the rear winding shaft. The two winding shafts are biased in the direction of winding while being movable in the longitudinal direction of the roof along a respective laterally positioned guide (24, 44, 46). The invention further relates to a canopy module to be mounted on the inside of a transparent vehicle roof section. Said canopy module is composed of an inner canopy and a shade arrangement (12) that is disposed in front thereof. Also disclosed is a shade arrangement in which the lateral edge regions are embodied in two layers by means of an additional layer (138).
