A color clock for alternately displaying the time in hours and minutes with the aid of colors, consisting of a star-shaped (1) or a rhomboid-shaped arrangement of seven to nine light-emitting color fields. The three (12, 4, 8) or four outer color fields of said arrangement symbolize the figures twelve, four and eight which are located in a corresponding position of a conventional clock face. Each of the inner color fields represents two (11/1, 3/5, 7/9) or three (2/6/10) of the remaining clock figures. Each color field has four states which can be realized by two colors alone and which are continuously illuminating or flashing.
