The device has a channel (14), through which a lubricant is discharged on a unreel surface for cylindrical rolls (30). The rolls for a roll bearing are arranged in a cage, which comprises of rods running between the rolls. The device is inserted between two adjacent rolls such that one of rolls is positioned with respect to the cage so that a roll mantle runs parallel to the rods. A gap is formed between the roll mantle and rod surface, where lubricant is discharged in the gap. An independent claim is also included for a method for discharging a lubricant.
