The vehicle (10) has chains (20) distributing weight of the vehicle to a surface of a square meter. The vehicle is driven using data from a cable positioning system (30) over or on a sea cable, so that the position of the cable is determined. The cable positioning system is attached at the vehicle in front. An electrical motor is provided in a rear part of the vehicle, where current supply of the vehicle takes place through a cable from board of a consort ship.
