Hybrid system (10) comprises an energy storage arrangement having a first energy storage unit for an electrical constant load and a second energy storage unit for an electrical load peak. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a hybrid system. Preferred Features: The first energy storage unit is an accumulator (16) and the second energy storage unit is an electrical capacitor (18). The two energy storage units can be electrically decouple from each other. A fuel cell (14) is connected to the first storage unit.
