A crucible (1) has at least one coolable side wall (2) designed as the inductor for inductive heating of the glass melt (10) which is contained in an inner area. Insulation (21) between the area (12) of the side wall facing the inner area and the inner area itself electrically insulates the glass melt from the side wall when the crucible is operating. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a melting plant for continuously manufacturing glass products having an insert device, an electrically insulated crucible and a removal device (16) continuously removing the melt from the crucible; and (b) continuously manufacturing molten glass by providing the crucible with a cooled side wall (2) and inductance heating with insulation between side wall and inner space as well as with continuous inductance heating with a voltage amplitude of more than 700 v per winding of the inductor.
