The method involves providing a coating foil strip wound on a coil to supply positions (120.1,120.2). A coil (10) is interchanged to an unwinding station (20), and a charge of profile strips is coated with the coating foil strip. The coil with the coating foil strips on an operating position, which is arranged above a coating device, is applied on and/or removed from the supply positions of a rotatable supplying device. The supply positions with the coil are guided to the unwinding station through the rotation of the supplying device. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a coating device for coils for use in the method for load-wise surface coating of profile strings (2) a coating system for profile strings.
