The torque transmission of the first control component (8) (a continuously-variable transmission component) is adjusted under control, as a function of the desired torque at the output side (5). The drive speed of the electrical machine (3) is regulated during engine (2) starting, such that the first control component is maintained in slipping operation, at least for the duration of starting, whilst producing the desired torque at the output (5).
