The thread splicing device for a textile machine which produces cross-wound bobbins has at least one rotational angle sensor (27) for monitoring a correct positioning of the functional elements (26,25,23). A rotational angle sensor is connected to the thread regulator (26) and detects the actual angular position of the thread regulator. The rotational angle sensor is connected into a control circuit and ensures that the thread regulator is positioned in set positions.
