The multistep reduction gear in planetary type of construction comprises three planetary gear trains (P1,P2,P3), at least six rotatable shafts (1-6), and also at least five shift elements, comprising brakes (03,04) and clutches (14,36,46), the selective engaging of which effects different transmission ratios between the drive shaft (1) and the output shaft (2) so that at least six forward speeds and one reverse speed can be realized.
