The method involves analyzing a process definition (1) to discover control sequence dependencies, which are not supported by the data stream (2). The control sequence of the process is transformed into Petri network (3), which is analyzed with the help of a Petri network analysis (4). The process is reconstructed with the help of Petri network and the process definition. The process is reconstructed without unnecessary control sequence dependencies (5), which generates an optimum process definition (7).
