The profile has ultrasound emitter arrangement (12), which emits ultrasound waves in particular directions (R1,R2,R3) during operation to determine the thickness profile of a layer of ice (8) on the surface of the aerodynamic profile (10). The ultrasound waves scan the surface to determine the profile of the thickness of the ice layer. The ultrasound emitter arrangement is laminated in the fiber composite material. An independent claim is also included for a method for measuring ice thickness on an aerodynamic profile.
