The unit comprises a housing (1) with a three point connection (2) and a drive shaft (4) to be joined to the PTO of a tractor. A transmission unit (3) accommodated inside the housing (1) is connected to the drive shaft (4) and to two transversally arranged rotating shafts (5). The front shaft (5) is inserted into a slightly higher position than the rear shaft and fitted with flails around its surface for crushing the remaining plant parts. The rear shaft comprises several rows of digging elements in order to chop and remove the roots.
