The pressing arrangement for dewatering or smoothening of a web of paper, cardboard, fiber or other fibrous material in a machine for the production and/or processing of the same, comprises a press gap formed by a pressing roller (1) and a counter roller (2), and a contact element (13) exhibiting a concave pressing surface for the formation of a pressing column. The diameter of the pressing roller is less than 800 mm. The axes of the pressing- and the counter rollers are arranged at a roller end into separate supporting parts (3, 4). The pressing roller holds a stationary axis and a rotating roll mantel. The pressing arrangement for dewatering or smoothening of a web of paper, cardboard, fiber or other fibrous material in a machine for the production and/or processing of the same, comprises a press gap formed by a pressing roller (1) and a counter roller (2), and a contact element (13) exhibiting a concave pressing surface for the formation of a pressing column. The diameter of the pressing roller is less than 800 mm. The axes of the pressing- and the counter rollers are arranged at a roller end into separate supporting parts (3, 4). The pressing roller holds a stationary axis and a rotating roll mantel that is pressed by the contact element for the counter roller. The opposite supporting parts are detachably connected together to a roller end by connection elements. The axis of the pressing roller is arranged in dump storage of the corresponding supporting parts. The swiveling axis of the supporting parts vertically passes to a pressing plain, which lies between the both axes of the pressing roller. A shaft fixed in the supporting part forms the dump storage. The shaft shows a barrel like form on the drive end of the pressing roller in the area of the axis. The diameter of the shaft is less than 60 mm. The swiveling axis is arranged on the side opposite to the axis of the contact element. The axis of the pressing roll in the supporting part has a ring shaped bulge for the radial fixation of the axis in the supporting part. The bulge and the swiveling axis of the dump storage are superimposed one on the other. The axis of the pressing roller shows a small diameter than the axis of the counter roller. The connection elements are formed by a tension bar, which is formed with the corresponding supporting part. The end of the tension bar is connected to the bulge. The double side of the pressing plain is arranged symmetrical to the tension bar. The pressing roll has a flexible rolling mantel (12).
