The fastening device for attaching fastening elements on a wall (1) comprises a basic body (3) with a base surface and a cover surface (5), and a filling channel (7), extending through the basic body and interconnecting the base surface and cover surface, and provided for filling of a self-hardening adhesive substance (14) which fills out the space there during assembly. A self-adhesive tape for adhesively bonding to the wall is provided on the base surface along a section of the edge (8), and a connecting element (12) projects from the basic body for attachment of a fastening element. An independent claim is included for a method for attaching the fastening device, in which the fastening device is attached to the wall by the adhesive tape, the self-hardening adhesive substance is introduced through the filling channel into the space which is at least partially defined by the base surface, the adhesive tape and the wall, and allowing the adhesive substance to harden.
