A tensile grip seal for compression pipe fittings comprises a conical shape ring (1) with an inner grip surface profiled with a cross thread pattern (3) which grips onto the outside of the connecting pipe. The ring can be a one piece construction of a slit construction and provides a multiple point grip onto the connecting pipe. Plastic pipes are securely held by a metal grip ring. The cross threaded grip pattern can have varying pitch.
