In a yarn or cord consisting of at least two yarns, where the yarn consists of multiple filaments (1) of polyester, nylon and/or aramid, the filaments forming the outermost layer of the yarn have an enlarged surface formed by projections (2) and indentations (3) running in the filament longitudinal direction.
