The method involves feeding a predefined test signal into a position (51, 52) of a control circuit (10) of a control system, where characteristics of the control circuit is observed based on the test signal at intervals of control circuit loop. The test signal is periodically overlaid to a measuring signal. The control circuit has a sensor (200), a control device (300) and an actuator (400). The actuator is connected with the sensor by a technical process.
