The coupler has a transmission circuit (4) with switching parts (5,6), which are connected with one another by a switching unit (7), where the switching parts are formed for generating a transmission signal voltage. The period of an active impulse of a transmission signal in a bus is provided by a switching period of the connection between the switching parts, amplitude of the active impulse and the amplitude of the generated transmission signal voltage.
