The device has a retainer for holding a spoke wheel and a measuring device for determining a radial run-out of the spoke wheel. Another measuring device determines an axial run-out of the spoke wheel. An indicating device (1) includes indicators (7, 8) that are arranged in an area of an identical value of a scale (9) and indicates the radial run out and the axial run out of the spoke wheel. Apexes (10, 11) of the indicators are lying on each other and in a null position (12). An independent claim is also included for a method for centering a spoke wheel.
