The partition has wall elements (1) which are movably hung up at rails and has a lateral cover and or a bottom sealing strip (10). The wall element is provided with a telescopic unit (11) and covered by external cover plates (12) on both sides of the partition. The unit (11) is horizontally extendable by means of a driver (13) in order to form a final lateral connection. The unit has a lateral cover and or a bottom sealing bridge (14) which is tiltable in the driven out condition into a horizontal sealing position, around a sound-proofed covering and or to create a base of the telescope unit.
