The engine has work spaces (1.1-1.3), where a cylindrical housing with parallel side surfaces and curved lateral surfaces is provided inside of each space. A rotor blade shaft (2) is arranged perpendicular to the side surfaces, where an outer circumference of the shaft linearly contacts the lateral surfaces. A rotor blade (3) is supported at the lateral surfaces and is sealed against the housing so that each space forms two chambers. Inlets (8a, 8b) and outlets (9a, 9b) are arranged behind and before a contact line in a direction of rotation of the shaft, respectively.
