The device has a cooling transmitting chamber comprising a coolant inflow (6) and a coolant outflow, where the cooling device is implemented as a flexible, matte-like planar structure (2). Two flexible surface units are connected closely with each other. The coolant chamber is provided between the surface units. The coolant chamber is implemented in form of coolant channels (11). An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a gradient coil.
