The boiler comprises a burner (1) and burner chamber (2). A flue connection for discharging the exhaust gases is designed as a waste pipe connection connected to the waste water pipes (4). To prevent the build up of smells the waste pipe connection (3) or burner can be closed off from the waste water pipe when the boiler is switched off. The burner can be a fan burner .
