The device has two parts, where one part is arranged in a partly fixed manner and another part is arranged on or in an object (1) e.g. field glass, in a simulator e.g. combat simulator. The latter part includes inclination sensors (3, 4) and a transmission module (6) with directional characteristics, where the simulator acts with the object with a display for representing a simulation environment. The former part has fixed reception modules and an evaluation unit (26). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for determining spatial adjustment of an object (2) a method for operating a simulator with an object alignable in the simulator.
