Torsional vibration damper e.g. rotary mass damper, for crankshaft of motor vehicle engine, has tooth contour introduced in hub and/or pulley and fixing damping ring in axial direction, and asymmetrical groove designed in saw-tooth shape
The damper has a damping ring (12) made of an elastomer material, which is enclosed between a hub (11) and a pulley (10). A tooth contour (14) is introduced in the hub and/or the pulley and fixes the damping ring in an axial direction. The contour has asymmetrical grooves, where one of the asymmetrical grooves is designed in a saw-tooth shape and another asymmetrical groove is designed in a nose shape. The pulley and/or the hub includes an end stop extended in a radial direction. The tooth contour is extended in a circumferential direction of the hub and/or the pulley.
