The injection syringe (1) has illuminant having light source (2) arranged in or at the injection syringe, whereby the radiation axis of the light source runs parallel to the longitudinal axis of the injection syringe and to the injection needle (3). The light source is arranged in a light source housing (6) placed externally at the injection syringe housing (10), where the longitudinal axis of the light source housing runs parallel to the longitudinal axis of the injection syringe housing. An independent claim is also included for a light source for arrangement at an injection syringe.
