In a method for monitoring in the context of an image-based clinical study: - medical image data (6) for a medical diagnosis (10) are generated by a patient (8), - verification data (16) correlated with the diagnosis by the patient (8) for verification of the diagnosis (10), - the diagnosis (10) verified on the basis of the verification data (16) is stored inseparably together with the image data (6) as medical reference image data (18), - the image data (6) are stored by at least two diagnosing persons (20a-c) for the extraction of respective individual information (22a-c) is presented, - the respective individual information (22a-c) is stored together with the image data (6) inseparably in respective viewer data (26a-c), - the respective Viewer data (26a-c) presented to a study monitor for monitoring.
