To give an exact positioning of a limit buffer, e.g. a moving door and the like at a vehicle bodywork, while the door is displaced from the buffer (1) it is attached to the carrier bodywork (2) in a preliminary mounting position. The door is then moved against the buffer and further into its end position, which shifts the buffer into its nominal position to be secured in place by an expanding fastener (4).
