The vehicle has a radio (6), and a switching device for switching on and off of the radio. The switching device has a sensing and/or tip switch (10), where the radio is repeatedly switched on for a predetermined time period with the switch by manual operation in a sleep-state. The radio is completely and automatically deactivated for another predetermined time period, which has brought in the sleep-state, when the radio is not reactivated by the switch. An independent claim is also included for a method of activating an electrical consumer in a vehicle.
