The arrangement has a two armed interferometer arrangement with an input attached with a laser source that produces an optical carrier signal, and with output for delivering an optical vestigial sideband signal. The interferometer arrangement has interferometer arms that are controlled by respective control signals, where the control signals are combination of modulation signals. A direct current voltage source (LD) controls the interferometer arms. A production arrangement produces one of the modulation signals, and has a differentiating unit and a low pass filter. An independent claim is also included for a procedure for production of an optical remaining sideband signal.
