The system has an imaging diagnostic device (6) e.g. computed tomography (CT) scanner, connected with a data link, and a data storage (3), in which data describing anatomical structures including lymph nodes (9). A computer (2) is programmatically arranged in such a manner that an automatic mapping is established between the nodes accepted by the diagnostic device and the data stored in the data storage. The device is adapted to generate section images, where a representation of the nodes is displayed with collimation of appropriate marking by a display device (5). An independent claim is also included for a method for processing a diagnostic image data.
