The heat exchanger (30) has a cooling core (8) inserted into a cooling channel, where the core has a deformable and/or movable compensating unit (37) that is connected with a cooling pipeline at one end. The unit (37) is designed as an elastically deformable bellows. The unit (37) is in contact with a housing (31) at another end directly or over a sealing unit (43) in an inserted condition of the core. The unit (37) is fixed at the housing using a detachable fastening unit (38) and compensates elongation of the core in the case of thermal expansion.
