The industrial truck (1), with a driver's seat (4) arranged transversely to the direction of travel (A), has a cover (10) which is opposite the entry opening (8) to the side of the seat and which has a writing desk (11). The writing desk is formed as a component part of the cover, and is inclined towards an operator. The writing desk has approximately the size of a DIN A4 sheet and also has a clamp for fixing documents.
