The system has two robot arms connected to two controllers (104, 108) having data areas in which two robot family information are stored, respectively. A network connection (114) is provided between the two controllers for transmitting signals. A master main program is stored in one of the controllers and a slave main program is stored in the other controller, where the master and slave main programs each contain program instructions to be executed for coordinated operations of the two robot arms, respectively. An independent claim is also included for a method of controlling two robot arms.
