The pump unit e.g. slip-regulated motor vehicle brake system, has a crankshaft housing (7) which has a rectangular or square outline. The adjacent housing surfaces (35,36,37,38) together carry the permanent magnets (8a,8b,8c,8d). The permanent magnets are arranged at right angle to each other. The two housing surfaces of the crankshaft housing are congruent with the length (l) or the depth (t) of the receiver body, or are formed as congruent with length or depth of the housing for the electronic controller.
