The binding sewing machine (10) has an insertion device (60) with a pair of insertion boards, which are arranged within a base plate (31) at either side of a binding device (30). The insertion device has a pair of supporting elements, which separately support each insertion board, so that the front end of each insertion board is vertically moved, and has a helical spring, which presses the front end of each insertion board.
