Drive comprises a toothed wheel (20-26) which disengages with a neighboring toothed wheel in a toothed wheel arrangement between a pressure plate cylinder (5) and a toothed wheel traction mechanism. Preferred Features: The toothed wheel moves in the axial direction or pivots with a radial component. When the pressure plate cylinder axially moves for a side register adjustment the sliding path of the cylinder is larger than the tooth width of a drive toothed wheel of the cylinder.
