Preparation of graft polymers based on polyether and vinyl ester comprises reaction of polyether (5-25 wt.%) (a), vinyl ester (b) (40-95 wt.%) and further hydrophobic monomers (c) (0-50 wt.%) in the presence of an organic solvent and a radical-forming polymerization initiator under reflux conditions, where after starting the polymerization, the temperature is controlled in such a way that the external temperature of the reactor is at least 3[deg] C lower than the internal temperature of the reactor.
