The method involves detecting optional model data e.g. scanned data, stored in a data storage unit (50) and setting a working plane for detecting two-dimensional sectional data of the model data. Two-dimensional projected sectional data of the model data is determined. The two-dimensional projected sectional data is divided into characteristic segments based on curvature distribution. An auxiliary condition and numeric information are determined in consistence with a connection of the divided characteristic segments of the projected sectional data, and providing two-dimensional picture data.
