The method involves determining data from a stationary data processing unit (1) about the moving behaviour of at least one part of a number of moving objects (5, 6, 7) within a defined spatial area. The data is then analysed to produce a parameter which includes an evaluation of the moving behaviour of any of the objects as regards an endangering situation. The parameter is selectively transmitted to the mobile data processing unit (2,3, 4) of the object involved in the dangerous situation. Independent claim describes system for providing safety relevant data through data processing units to determine type, position, speed , direction of movement, dimensions and system variables of an object such as a vehicle or pedestrian.
