The stock (1) of a firearm has a shank cap (3) and a stock main part (2) which is formed so as to be longitudinally alterable, the length being preferably steplessly variable. A handle (4), on the lower side, and a cheek cap (8), on the upper side, are fixed on the main part of the stock. An independent claim is also included for a cheek cap.
