The transmission actuator (1) has a component (30) between a motor (12) or motor side and a transmission unit (24) or between the motor or motor side and another component (26) of the transmission unit. The latter component, for blocking free holding of the selection position during switching, moves relatively opposite to the transmission unit and relatively opposite to a motor shaft (10) of the motor or a threaded spindle (16). The latter component, for the initiation of the selection process, is limited in its relative movement opposite to the transmission unit or latter component. An independent claim is also included for a control shaft, where a component is connected between a motor shaft of the electric motor and another component.
