The device for rear-side support and retaining of a wheelchair (1) in a vehicle, with a retaining device for fastening the wheelchair on a support rail (19) which is anchored to the floor of the vehicle, has a bar (27) which is lockable on the support rail and extends basically perpendicularly to it, and with a padded plate (23) which is designed to bear against the rear side of the backrest, and with housings attached to the foot of the bar for fitting of the retaining device.
