Separation process for dispersions consisting of at least a liquid and at least a solid component comprises sedimenting the dispersion in a sedimentation tank (1) and removing the liquid from the sedimentation tank, where a suction equipment (7) is brought into the filled sedimentation tank, and contacted to at least a surface of the dispersion with its suction face; the outlet of the suction equipment is approximately positioned over or in a liquid collecting equipment (10); and in the suction equipment a fluid stream is conducted by capillary action.
