The system has a map storage device to store the map data, which contain information elements. A momentary position detector records a momentary position of the vehicle using the stored map data. A construction unit executes a driver assistance implementation, on the basis the computed map reliability degree of an associated operation. A map reliability degree computation unit calculates a map reliability degree, which indicates an accuracy of the map data over the vicinity of the included momentary position concerning information elements. An independent claim is also included for a method for execution of driver assistance application for a control destination in a motor vehicle using map data for a map of the vehicle environment.
